Integrated multi-drug test strips inside a Mayflower urine screening cup

Features of Drug Test Cups

Each Mayflower cup combines collection, temperature check, and immunoassay screening in one device - so programs can collect, read, and document without extra analyzers.

  • Integrated multi-panel strips. One urine specimen screens 12, 14, or 16 substances depending on configuration, including opiates, stimulants, sedatives, THC, and optional ETG, FEN, PCP, TCA, or kratom.
  • Built-in temperature strip. Confirm the specimen is consistent with a freshly voided sample (typically 90 100 | F / 32 38 | C) before you interpret lines.
  • Leak-resistant screw lid. Designed for transport from collection to reading without spills or strip contamination.
  • Five-minute read window. Preliminary results appear in about five minutes. Do not interpret after eight minutes.
  • CLIA-waived and forensic options. The 12 panel PCP cup is CLIA waived and FDA cleared for professional screening. ETG/FEN/kratom configurations are labeled Forensic Use Only.
  • Volume pricing and same-day shipping. Free shipping on 100+ cups. See each product for quantity breaks.

Drug Test Cup Method

Rapid immunoassay cups are one-step lateral-flow tests. Collect, wait, then read the control (C) and test (T) lines. Always follow the insert packed with the lot you receive.

  1. 01

    Collect

Open a sealed pouch and use the cup promptly. Have the donor fill to the marked line, then cap immediately. Keep the cup upright.

  2. 02

    Verify

At 2 4 minutes, check the temperature strip. A reading in the valid range supports that the specimen was provided at collection not substituted from a stored sample.

  3. 03

    Read

Peel the privacy label if present. Interpret at 5 minutes. A missing control line means the test is invalid discard and repeat with a new cup.

Result guide

How to Read Drug Test Results from a Urine Cup

Lines form as urine wicks up each strip. Color intensity can vary; any distinct line in the test region is typically negative. Read in good light at five minutes.

Mayflower drug test cup result window and temperature strip

Positive / Presumptive

C only

Control line (C) present. No line in the test region (T) for that drug. Treat as a preliminary positive and confirm in a laboratory.

  • Do not report as confirmed positive
  • Send for lab confirmation when required

Negative

C + T

Lines in both C and T. A faint T line still counts as negative for that panel.

  • Any distinct T line = negative
  • Read at five minutes in good light

Invalid

No C

No control line. Do not report a result. Repeat with a new cup from an unopened pouch. If it persists, contact Mayflower.

  • Never report without a control line
  • Retest with a fresh sealed cup

For federally regulated workplace testing, see SAMHSA workplace programs. Rapid cups used here are screening devices, not SAMHSA laboratory certifications.

U.S. screening programs

America's Professional Urine Screening Standard

Multi-panel cups remain the default on-site format for U.S. occupational health, treatment, and supervision programs because they answer a practical question in one collection: which major drug classes are present right now?

  • Occupational health
  • Treatment programs
  • Supervision
01

12-panel is the workhorse

It covers the opiate classes programs actually miss on cheap 5-panel screens - oxycodone, methadone, buprenorphine - plus stimulants, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, MDMA, THC, and PCP. Mayflower's CLIA-waived 12 panel with PCP is built for documented professional screening.

02

FEN needs its own strip

Standard opiate antibodies do not detect FEN. CDC overdose data continue to show illicit FEN in a large share of U.S. overdose deaths. That is why forensic cups in this collection add a dedicated FEN strip at 20 ng/mL.

03

ETG extends alcohol monitoring

Breath or blood alcohol collapses within hours; ethyl glucuronide in urine can remain detectable for a day or more after drinking. Treatment and sober-living programs specify ETG rather than relying on a clinic-door breathalyzer alone.

Where These Drug Cups Are Used

Match the cup to the population and the paperwork you must keep not to a generic 12 panel | label.

Safety-sensitive employers & staffing

Pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable-suspicion screens. Start with the CLIA-waived 12 panel PCP cup so oxycodone and buprenorphine are not invisible.

Treatment, MAT & sober living

Need alcohol between visits and street FEN on the same void. Use the 12 panel ETG + FEN cup (forensic use).

Drug courts, probation & corrections

Broader sedative and dissociative coverage plus FEN. The 14 panel PCP/ETG/FEN cup is the expanded forensic option.

Clinical forensic & pain programs

When policy also tracks tricyclics or kratom, step up to the 16 panel. Confirm any clinical decision with laboratory toxicology.

How to Choose the Right Configuration for Your Program

Work backwards from the substances your policy names, then from whether you need a CLIA-waived device or a forensic-use screen.

If you must stay CLIA waived

Choose the 12 panel with PCP. It is the only cup in this collection labeled CLIA waived and FDA cleared. Do not substitute a forensic ETG/FEN cup when your procedure requires a waived device.

If alcohol abstinence is in the contract

You need ETG. Breath alcohol on collection day will miss drinking earlier in the week. Use a forensic cup that includes ETG/300.

If illicit FEN is in your community

You need a FEN strip. An OPI-negative result does not rule out FEN. See CDC overdose prevention for why programs added this panel.

If you also monitor kratom or TCAs

Only the 16 panel adds KRA/500 and TCA/1000. Use it when those drugs are written into your panel list not as a default for every workplace.

FAQs

Short answers for purchasing and on-site use. Your package insert is the lot-specific authority.

How fast do Mayflower drug test cups read?

Preliminary lines form in about five minutes. Read then; do not interpret after eight minutes. Temperature is checked at 2 4 minutes.

What is the difference between CLIA waived and Forensic Use Only?

The 12 panel PCP cup is CLIA waived and FDA cleared for professional diagnostic screening. Cups that add ETG, FEN, or kratom in this collection are labeled Forensic Use Only they are not for waived clinical diagnostic use. See the FDA CLIA waiver page.

Can a cup detect prescription medications?

Yes. Panels such as BZO, BUP, MTD, OXY, BAR, and TCA are aimed at prescription classes as well as illicit use. A line result is not a dosage or prescription-validity determination.

Why add FEN if opiates are already on the cup?

FEN is a synthetic opiate. Morphine-class OPI strips do not reliably detect it. A dedicated FEN/20 panel is required for that exposure.

What does the temperature strip do?

It helps show the urine was produced at collection. Out-of-range temperature is a reason to stop and follow your substitution / recollection procedure.

Should positives be confirmed?

Yes. Immunoassay cups are screening tests. Confirm presumptive positives by GC-MS or LC-MS/MS before employment, clinical, or legal decisions.

Can we order in bulk?

Yes. Quantity breaks appear on each product page (examples: 12 panel ETG/FEN from $3.70, 16 panel from $2.59, 14 panel from $3.78). Request a quote for standing orders. Free shipping on 100+ cups.

Do you ship same day?

Same-day shipping is offered on qualifying orders (see product pages). The 12 panel ETG/FEN cup may show backorder confirm stock before you schedule a collection event.

How should cups be stored?

Keep pouches dry at the temperature range on the box, away from direct sun. Do not use damaged or expired pouches.
